In this piece for RaceBaitr, I take a Black Studies approach to understanding “Black-on-Black crime” (more explicitly Black male perpetrated homicide) in order to critique popular arguments that suggest this violence to be explained by segregation and a lack of economic resources. Instead, I reinterpret perpetrators of homicide through a lens of Black radical tradition.
I consider this to be the most challenging thing I've written to date.
